With theAndorseason 2 premiere just around the corner, now’s the perfect time to speculate on whichStar Warscharacters have the best survival odds. I’ve always loved howAndorisn’t afraid to show the dark reality of starting a rebellion and fighting against tyranny. The unfortunate downside is that many superbly written characters we grow attached to die by the end.

This approach is fitting for a spinoff ofRogue One: A Star Wars Story, a film bold enough to kill its entire main cast in the third act. While that would seem to guarantee the survival of certain characters inAndorseason 2, there is one way the show could surprise us even in that regard. As for the rest ofAndor’s cast and characters, here’s how I rank everyone by their likelihood of survival.

Kleya Marki in Andor season 1.

10Luthen Rael

A rebel spymaster who sees no future for himself

Of all the main characters inAndor, Luthen Rael is the one I can’t see surviving season 2. He embodies the leader who sacrifices his happiness and moral integrity for the greater good, highlighted by his brilliant monologue inAndorseason 1, episode 10 “One Way Out.“Luthen is a high-priority target for Imperial Intelligence and his death would be narratively fitting, making him the least likely to survive.

9Kleya Marki

Luthen Rael’s right-hand woman

A character with a slightly better chance of survival but also likely to die is Kleya Marki, Luthen’s closest ally throughout season 1. Luthen having more focus means that his death would be more impactful, butI could also see Kleya sacrificing herself for him, causing Luthen to lose the one person he trusted most in the galaxy. It would be one more consequence he has to live with throughout season 2.

8Dedra Meero

A cunning ISB lieutenant whose ambition could be her downfall

Dedra Meero proved herself the most cunning, intelligent, and competent Imperial inAndorseason 1, but there’s a good chance the writers have already foreshadowed her death. As she rose through the ranks in season 1,Dedra was consistently warned to watch out for fellow officers she had crossed, and she nearly died in the finale. I see Dedra as an Orson Krennic-type character, constantly seeking achievement but realizing too late how futile it was.

7Blevin

The foil to Dedra Meero in the ISB

Blevin primarily served as Dedra’s rival within the ISB in season 1, losing ground to her when she outshined him. I believe this gives him a slightly better chance at survival, asBlevin’s death wouldn’t be as impactful as Dedra’s.Of course, she could also have him killed when he gets in her way, allowing her to grab even more power within the ISB.

6Vel Sartha

A dedicated rebel fighter and Mon Mothma’s cousin

Vel Sartha was a competent leader dedicated to the Rebellion in season 1, and there are a few reasons the writers would kill her off. Despite how much she sacrificed, even Vel’s own girlfriend looked down on her having come from a life of privilege, giving her something to prove with a final sacrifice. It would also be devastating to Mon Mothma since they’re cousins, but the toll the Rebellion will take on Mon’s family may already be enough.

Andor Recap: Everything You Need To Remember Ahead Of Season 2

Andor season 2 is almost here, meaning many will wish to look back on the first season to remember what happened going into Star Wars’ next TV show.

5Cinta Kaz

A rebel focused on the mission at any cost

Like other characters on this list, Cinta Kaz has a slightly better chance of survival compared to the character she is closest to. Even more than Vel, Cinta was fully prepared to sacrifice her own happiness and well-being for the Rebellion because of how the Empire destroyed her life. While her death would crush Vel,it could be more emotional if Vel died, making Cinta realize how she didn’t cherish her while they had time together.

4Syril Karn

A man consistently living with the consequences of his mistakes

Despite how frequently Syril Karn endangered himself in season 1, I believe there’s a strong case for him surviving. Syril has come close to death, arrest, and losing everything, but he’s always the one who has to live with the consequences of his actions.I think it would be fitting if Syril got everything he ever wanted as a high-ranking Imperial, only to realize how empty it isand how many suffered because of his rigid sense of morality.

3Bix Caleen

One of Cassian Andor’s closest friends who suffered protecting him

I put Bix Caleen higher on the list because of how her story ended in season 1. If the writers were going to kill her, having her die from torture just after Cassian finds her would have been the most effective time to do it. Instead,Bix and Cassian’s other closest friend escaped Ferrix, going on to live full lives that Cassian himself must finally give up to dedicate himself to the Rebellion.

2B2EMO

A loyal droid who may have an unexpected role to play

I think B2EMO has a good chance of surviving for similar reasons to Bix, especially with how important he is to the Andor family. Considering how he has lost the only family he ever had,it would be fitting if Cassian made sure a piece of his adopted parents' legacy survivedbefore he inevitably sacrificed himself. There’s also a popular fan theory thatB2EMO’s memory will be used to reprogram K-2SO, meaning he’d still be around forRogue One.

1Andor Characters Who Appear In Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

The ones who are guaranteed to survive

As fun as it would be going intoAndor season 2with no idea what will happen, the reality is that it’s a prequel with predetermined conclusions for certain characters. We may not know exactly how the season will get us from point A to point B, but the fact that some characters appear inRogue Onemeans there’s no way they can die. These are the Rogue One characters already confirmed to appear inAndor’s final season:

The only reason I feel compelled to mention these characters at all is just in case the Andor series finale does something similar to pastStar Warsshows. The last few minutes ofStar Wars: The Clone Wars,Star Wars: The Bad Batch, andStar Wars Rebelsall featured time skips for their epilogue scenes. If Andor does something like that, then some of these characters would have technically died by the end of the season.

Blevin talks to Dedra in Andor season 1.

While this is purely speculation,I think it would be really fascinating to see how characters who survive the show react to the events ofRogue One.The final arc could also show what they were doing during the events ofRogue One, similar to the final arc ofThe Clone Warshappening concurrently withStar Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith. Until this happens, theseStar Warscharacters are the ones guaranteed to surviveAndorseason 2.
