Velocity is a power-stealing Amazo robot inAmanda Waller’s new Task Force VII, modeled after the Flash and specifically designed to take on the Flash-Family. With a speedster-inspired design, Velocity is more than just a machine; like the other Amazos,he is inhabited by the personality of one of the Zur-En-Arrh Batmen from across the Multiverseand is currently under Waller’s control. The fusion of Amazo technology, Batman’s intelligence, and Waller’s ambitions creates an exceptionally formidable foe, one who could potentially become the fastest speedster on Earth.
Each member of Task Force VII has gained their abilities by siphoning powers from various heroes. According to the solicitation for Alex Paknadel and Pete Woods’Absolute Power: Task Force VII#5, set to release on August 28, Velocity is “powered by the speed of the rest of the Flash Family,” with the notable exception of Barry Allen, who is now the Amazo’s primary target. It will be intriguing to see how Barry holds up against Velocity, but with the speed of the entire Flash Family on the Amazo’s side, the odds are stacked heavily against the human speedster.

What Makes Velocity’s Design the Best Flash ‘Costume’ in Decades?
Absolute Power: Task Force VII#5 Main Cover by Pete Woods
Velocity’s Flash ‘costume’ is a striking fusion of sleek metal and sharp edges, with a color scheme that exudes badassery. While it unmistakably draws inspiration from the Flash, its unique design sets it apart with a predominantly black lower body and arms, and vibrant red prominently featured on the torso and head. What truly makes this design stand out, however, are the veins of electric yellow running through the suit and the glowing horizontal Flash symbol. This blend of elements not only reinforces itsFlash-inspired roots but also establishes it as one of the coolest speedster costumes in decades.

The Flash
The Flash is the superhero name given to the DC Comics character who utilizes unparalleled speed tied to a dimensional power known as the “speed force” to overwhelm their opposition. Premiering in 1939, the original Flash arrived as Jay Garrick. Still, it would be superseded by Barry Allen in popularity and featured status, but the Flash is one character that has met many of their alternate selves. The character is typically seen as a part of the Justice League in nearly all incarnations.
