There are a lot of dangerous enemies to defeat inElden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree,but none more so than the Winter Lanterns (Aging Untouchable). They areknown as one of the most feared enemies in Bloodborneand many players will choose to avoid them. The Aging Untouchables can only be dealt with in a certain way, being able to quickly cause problems for those unaware of how to defeat them. They can only be found in one of the manyhidden locations in theShadow of the Erdtree DLC.
The Winter Lanterns have giant bulbs for heads while wielding wands for a unique and scary appearance. They are a new enemy in theElden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLCand hunting them down is worthwhile. Once you have defeated one they can drop several items including the crafting material,Swollen Grape, or the Aged One’s Exultation Talisman, which raises attack power when madness is triggered nearby.

Finding Winter Lanterns In The Abyssal Woods
There are many hidden details in the new DLC that furtherElden Ring’s backstory, including the Winter Lanterns from Bloodborne. If you want to face off against one, you will have to go out of your way to find them. The area they can be found in can be seen on the map, but there is only one way to reach it.
You can find Winter Lanterns in the Abyssal Woods area around the swamp.
You have to progress through several areas before being able to enter the Abyssal Woods portion of theElden Ringmap.You first, should travel to the Shadow Keepand interact with the hidden coffin which opens up a secret passage. From here, you need to keep following the river downstream until you reach the Darklight Catacombs. There will be lots of enemies that you need to clear out, as well as a boss, Jori, but once you have done so you will be able to access the Abyssal Woods.

Using Parry To Your Advantage
When you first encounter them, the Aging Untouchables seem undefeatable. They can’t be damaged or killed by normal attacks and can turn you mad if you get close enough. you’re able to choose to simply sneak past them if you don’t wish to engage, but there is one way to defeat them.
You need to let the Winter Lanterns attack you either from the front or behind and just before they strike, parry their attacks. This can include using theGolden Parry Ash of War. You can use a weapon or a shield, but it only takes one successful parry to stop the Winter Lanterns in their tracks. This will stun them, allowing you to use your standard attacks to take them down. Once they are stunned, you can deplete their health relatively quickly.
The Winter Lanterns (Aging Untouchable) can appear to be impossible to defeat upon first meeting them, but they can easily be killed as long as you wait for them to attack before using Parry inElden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree.
