Explore Diablo Immortal’s latest update
Blizzard hasn’t forgotten about its most successful financial mobile game, Diablo Immortal, as the game has received the most comprehensive patch since its launch. The Forgotten Nightmares updates a new story expansion, changes to existing features, and new items/mechanics to bring more options for end-game grinding. However, getting lost in the woods is easy asnew players approach Diablo Immortal, which is why we’ve compiled a guide that breaks down what’s new, what’s changed, and how to take advantage of this colossal update on yourfavorite Android gaming phone.
New lore-filled dungeon: Silent Monastery
Your stop for Diablo lore, upon entering the Silent Monastery, you’ll revisit the history of the Zakarum crusades through the lands of Ivgorod. The newest dungeon arrival in Diablo Immortal, Silent Monastery, sets the nightmare tone by plunging itself into the darkness so threatening that it blankets the peaks of Mount Zavail to Sentinel’s Watch in a black mist. Only the most vicious demons live inside the mist, ready to prey on the souls of the innocents that encroached on these lands, so it’s up to you to stop the soul-devouring demons that cowardly lurk in the shadows.
To access Silent Monastery, you must be level 60+ and form a party with 2-4 players.Note: The dungeon has a dark interior, making it difficult to see where you are going and what you’re fighting; to navigate the darkness, you must light your way by interacting with the temple’s statues.

Update and changes to Warbands
It’s no secret that the new player count has been declining since release, and as a result, it has become more burdensome to fill up Warbands to complete content. Many players have expressed frustration with thedependency of filling up the Warbands slots to tackle its restrictive content. This new update sheds light on some of these concerns, so we’ve provided an overview of the overhauled systems.
Castle Cyrangar
Warbands now have new exploration experiences. Two replayable game modes and added passive bonuses awarded by upgrading and defending the castle. Players wishing to participate in the action must complete the quest, reach level 20, and join a Warband. Talk to Valstus in Westmarch to start the questline.
You’ll have to divide and conquer each major area in Castle Cyrangar while facing off against the restless spirits that embody each room. Once you and your Warband have cleared out the castle’s rooms, you can hang up your Warband banner and have the members occupy and upgrade these rooms.

After successfully conquering Castle Cyrangar, you’ll unlock two playable modes (Standard mode and Endless mode) to defend your stronghold. If you’re no stranger to Overwatch, this plays out similarly to Junkenstein’s Revenge, where you’ll have to survive against an onslaught of enemies that come your way every round. You’ll earn sweet rewards like Ancestral Weapons and Invocation Gear that can trigger your Ancestral Weapon effects.
How Ancestral Weapons work
You acquire Ancestral Weapons as drops during Purge of the Depths and Defense of Cyrangar. You’re provided a tableau for you and your Warband members. The tableau contains slots for your Ancestral Weapons; these weapons share a portion of their attributes, like strength and vitality, as buffs for you and your Warband members.
Combine these buffs to strengthen your Warband, which will come in handy while tackling content. Thankfully you only need to be online to access the tableau feature, but you’ll want to delegate in chat which Ancestral Weapons should be added to the tableau.

Invocation Gear brings new customization options
Equipping Invocation Gear (assuming you have a passive) to your item slots can combine with your Ancestral Weapon passive, essentially adding a new way or effect to trigger passives between both. Mix and match your passives to create new ones to enhance your playstyle and build.
Helliquary raid boss Izilech the Misshapen
Eligibility to tackle Forgotten Nightmare’s Helliquary raid boss Izilech the Misshapen is to have a combat score of 6175 and have unlocked the Helliquary. Helliquary is unlocked by speaking to Rayek in Westmarch after completing the main story for Bilefen and reaching level 36. The Helliquary is essentially the raid system for Diablo Immortal, where you could tackle formidable demons with a group of players. Upon defeating these demons will drop valuable loot. For Izilech the Misshapen, you can earn the Wrathborne Crown; this provides an additional 30 combat score rating and 10% increased movement inside Challenge Rifts.
Gloomguide’s Prize brings dashing to the next level
A new set makes way to Diablo Immortal, Gloomguide’s Prize. Players can deal with enemy hordes more aggressively with dashes and escape moves to deal more damage. All drop locations have been adjusted to accommodate the new set, including the new dungeon (Silent Monastery).
The two-piece bonus increases damage by 15% (for 3 seconds) after using a dash, the four-piece bonus increases crit rate by 22.5% (for 3 seconds) after using a dash, while the six-piece set bonus unleashes a wave of terror after using a dash causing damage to all nearby enemies, enemies affected are inflicted by fear (occurs every 40 seconds).
Summary of other updates
Navigating the darkness in Forgotten Nightmare
Sometimes the grind for the end-game gear gets tiresome, putting players off from enjoying the central parts of the game: voluntary multiplayer and the evolving lore behind Diablo. The release of the Forgotten Nightmares update is the evidence we were all looking for, the problem revolving around Warbands and the reliance on scheduled multiplayer content is finally getting addressed. However, the new features and incentivized group content only place a bandaid on the recurring issues; so far, there’s no news for solo-friendly content and getting rid of the Warbands system altogether. But fixes (especially to core systems) don’t happen overnight. Hopefully, Forgotten Nightmares is just the start, and we will have to wait and see if meatier updates keep addressing these issues. Otherwise, we may have to look intoupcoming Android gamesfor more well-suited alternatives. For now, you could jump into the latest update, which is why we’ve included the app’s widget below.
