Summary

A luckyFallout 4playershares howthey managed to bypass one of the game’s most tedious quests and walk away with its incredibly useful reward. Upon starting theNuka-WorldDLC, players will quickly discover the Galactic Zone, a massive area that ultimately fell prey to its own defective security system and hostile robots. To gain full control of the facility and the ultra-powerful Quantum X-01 Power Armor behind a locked display case, the Sole Survivor must track down 35 Star Cores to access various parts of the Galactic Zone, a process that can take a while.

Fortunately for userNatt42over on Reddit, the player managed to acquire the Quantum X-01 by a chance encounter with a particular dedicated Operatorwho simply leaped through the display case and equipped the Quantum X-01.

Lorenzo Cabot and Duke from the Atom Cats with a group of feral ghouls in the background.

Despite having not collected all the necessary Star Cores,Natt42 was able to kill their foe and claim the suit of Power Armor for themself, thus completely bypassing the core goal of the “Star Control” quest. While clearly a bug that likely left the mission incomplete, it’s still fun to know that it’s possible to gain the Quantum X-01 without acquiring every Star Core.

Fallout 4’s 10 Best Random Encounters

Traveling around the world of Fallout 4 is always kept fresh and interesting with so many random encounters, and these are some of the best.

Why You Want The Quantum X-01

Most Agree That It’s Fallout 4’s Best Armor

There aren’t manyFallout 4players who’d disagree that anyone looking tocomplete the game with a set of Power Armorshould do so with the Quantum X-01. Not only does it feature excellent damage reduction and rad resistance, but when all of its parts are equipped in a full setit grants the user its Legendary effect of a faster Action Point refresh rate. That means those who actively use VATS to bring down targets will be able to use the mechanic more frequently than ever, which should be enough to sell anyone on the Quantum X-01.

While Natt42’s lucky discovery is one of the best ways to acquire the Quantum X-01 without completing “Star Control,” there is another way toexploitFallout 4’s bugs. If players place themselves in a way that climbing out of a suit of Power Armor would put them inside the display case, there’s a chance they can clip straight through the glass. This can take some practice since the positioning is quite precise but if they succeed, they can simply don the Quantum X-01 and then fast-travel to escape.
