Mike Flanagan Has Also Expressed Interest
A Nightmare on Elm Streetis a popular choice for actors and directors, with many others expressing interest in joining the franchise. This is simply because of how iconic the original 1984 film and its central villain Freddy Krueger are, but also because of howthe horror franchise hasn’t had a proper installment since 2010, and is begging to be rebooted. In the past 14 years, development on a new installment has struggled since the Wes Craven Estate acquired the rights to the series following the director’s death.
