The Nintendo Switch is one of the most commercially successful Nintendo consoles of all time. While the Nintendo Switch makes it easy to play games on the go, you may also use its Joy-Cons to play games on your smartphone or tablet.
If you want to learn how to use your Nintendo Switch’s Joy-Cons on your Apple devices like your iPhone or iPad, we’ll show you how.

Why Use Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons on an iPhone?
While you canconnect your PlayStation and Xbox controllers to your iPhone or iPad, not everyone has a PlayStation or Xbox controller. In fact, many people prefer Nintendo games and only have a Switch.
So, instead of buying a new Bluetooth controller to play iOS games, you can use one you already have. This saves time and money, and you play with a high-quality controller you’re already comfortable with.

Pairing and Connecting Switch Joy-Cons to Your iPhone or iPad
Before continuing, ensure your iPhone or iPad is running iOS 16/iPadOS 16 or later. Older iOS versions won’t allow you to connect your Switch Joy-Cons, as the Nintendo port didn’t exist until iOS 16.
To begin connecting your Switch Joy-Cons, unlock your device, head toSettings > Bluetoothand ensure Bluetooth isOn.
Then, detach your Switch Joy-Cons. You will need to pair and connect each Joy-Con individually. Between the SL and SR buttons, you will see a small, circular button—known as the Sync button.
Press and hold the Sync button, and your Switch Joy-Con will become searchable. You will see it appear asJoy-Con (R)in your device’s Bluetooth settings menu. All you need to do is tap on it to connect the Joy-Con to your iPhone or iPad.
If you want to connect both Joy-Cons, do the same for the other Joy-Con and you will be able to use both simultaneously.
Play iPhone Games With Your Nintendo Joy-Cons
Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons work great with iPhones and iPads, so you don’t have to worry about spending money on a proper game controller. Many great iOS games, like Call of Duty and Roblox, have controller support. These games aren’t available for the Switch, but you can play them with Joy-Cons on your iPhone or iPad instead.
