Lee Kirk is a screenwriter who often crossed paths with Jenna Fischer while they were both making their way up in Hollywood. One problem is that Cece does not seem to be taking to feeding easily. While Jim thinks they can figure it out, Pam insists they call in a specialist. A lactation consultant, Clark comes in to help the parents, and he’s played by none other than Lee Kirk. While Clark gets intimately close to Pam to help with feeding, Jim watches from his chair, looking uncomfortable.

Jenna Fischer is mostly known for her role as receptionist-turned-saleswoman-administrator Pam Beesly in the American version of the UK’s The Office.
Kirk pitches Clark perfectly, playing him innocuously but also with just a hint of weirdness, strolling into the room and asking the couple, “Got milk?” Despite that one joke, Pam is totally at ease and Clark is just there to help. His innocence and effectiveness makes Jim’s sullen discomfort all the more hilarious. While Jim is off in Philly building Athlead, Pam is trying to keep things together at home, and is awarded the chance to paint a mural in the warehouse. However, after a worker paints a crude image over it, Pam and Dwight (Rainn Wilson) begin an investigation to find out who has it out for her and her painting.
This episode is not alwaysfondly remembered inThe Officerankingsbecause of how Brian the boom operator (Chris Diamantopoulos) figures into it so heavily, but the problems with the episode: Brian, Frank the vandal (Brad William Henke), and the scattered characters and story, are not the director’s fault.Kirk makes do with what he has to work with and moves the plot forward quicklywith Pam and Angela (Angela Kinsey), while also expertly staging one of the most dramatic moments in the show with Frank and Brian’s fight.
