Fans ofMy Hero Academiawill have to wait longer than expected to watchepisode 12 of season 7, as the broadcast has been delayed by a week due to the start of the 2024 Summer Olympics. The previous episode saw the focus return to Shigaraki’s battlefield, where Bakugo, the Big Three, and several pro heroes are struggling to deal with the immensely powerful villain. In the episode, one of the series' most dramatic moments occurs, with Bakugo struck down, and seemingly dead.

The heroes battled on valiantly, delivering several incredibly powerful attacks to Shigaraki, but he was able to shake off all of them with relative ease. The Big Three in particular–Nejire Hado,Mirio Togata, and Tamaki Amajiki–stepped up big time, and Mirio actually managed to truly infuriate Shigaraki momentarily by accusing him of having no friends. Using a combination of Nejire’s energy and his own abilities, Tamaki managed to deliver an absurdly powerful Plasma Cannon attack, vaporizing much of Shigaraki’s mutated body, but the villain recovered from it with little effort. Here’s everything to know about episode 12 before it debuts, so you can watch as soon as possible.

What Happened in My Hero Academia, Season 7, Episode #11?

Bakugo is Killed by a Side Effect of His Quirk

Episode 11 ofMy Hero Academiaseason 7 returned to the massive battle between Shigaraki and the assembled heroes at UA’s “Coffin in the Sky,” a cage designed to trap Shigaraki and ensure his defeat. While Shigaraki is certainly contained, the heroes posted inside have been struggling against his absurd power, and Bakugo in particular has taken some very hard hits. He spends much of the episode recovering next to Best Jeanist, while the Big Three took their turn at taking down Shigaraki. Despite the power they wielded, however, Shigaraki came back from their attack as strong as ever.

Bakugo isn’t one to stay down even when it’s in his best interest, though, so he inevitably gets back up and rushes Shigaraki, actually managing to deliver some powerful blows. However, a side effect of his creating explosive beads of sweat led to those beads entering his blood stream and traveling to his heart, where they exploded, dealing significant internal damage. By all appearances,Bakugo is legitimately deadat this point, just in time for Deku to show up and witness with horror the fate of his friend. There’s no telling how Deku may react, or how much longer it’ll take him to arrive, but the drama is already established.

Bakugo lies dead on the ground next to his All Might trading card.

My Hero Academia Season 7, Episode #12 Sees the Villains Strike Back

Things Take A Turn For the Worse

Episode 12, entitled “Those Who Defend, Those Who Violate,” will deal with the immediate aftermath of Bakugo being struck down mid-battle, as the heroes look on in shock and horror at the fact that Shigaraki has led to the death of a child. Shigaraki will, of course, blame this on the heroes for putting him in this situation, while simultaneously trying to pick out his next target. The episode is also going to check in with some of the other battles going on again, including Shoto’s battle with Dabi, who may not be as defeated as it appeared.

All for One’s rewind will begin in earnest, restoring his body to its prime while Endeavor and Hawks are still left brutally injured from their fighting thus far. All for One’s primary concern isn’t defeating Endeavor at all, however; it’s to protect his new body, Tomura Shigaraki, prompting the villain to take off for Shigaraki’s battlefield at top speed. Meanwhile, at the Coffin in the Sky, Edgeshot makes a bold declaration that could change the field of battle once again.

Dabi comes back with a vengeance, proving he wasn’t so defeated after all.

Things are looking pretty bleak for the heroes right now, with All for One and Tomura Shigaraki both at a distinctive advantage in their respective battles. My Hero Academia’s final war is entering its darkest period, but will the power of heroes be able to bring a light to these looming shadows?
