The game has been available for a while now and most of its contents have already been deciphered, while its secrets have been uncovered. In the comment section, a user points out that their grief can be resolved by casting Animate Dead on both of them, transforming the skeletons into thralls. This came as a surprise to some players, who mentioned theynever considered casting the spell on skeletons. Surprisingly or not, by using this spell, the skeletons come to life and fight alongside the player’s party inBaldur’s Gate 3, even if for a limited time.
Animated skeletons are ranged allies, whereas zombies are melee fighters.
The Surprise May Be Due To Lack Of Experimentation
The surprise at the new information in the Reddit thread may be a result of how the Necromancy spell is usually used. In combat, Animate Dead is quite useful in transforming recently deceased enemies into allies that will help take down the remaining opponents. As such,players usually use Animate Dead on fresh corpses rather than on the skeletons of fully decayed bodies. Because of this, there is a chance a portion of players inBaldur’s Gate 3never invoked a skeleton from the scenario to their side.
Animate Dead can be used to create an undead servant from a corpse that fits the Medium or Small categories.
Necromancy can be a very useful tool while exploring the game, as its spells can not only bring forth undead allies but also provide information – the spell Speak With Dead is extremely useful when trying to uncover secrets only the dead person once knew, for instance. Of course, players are free to play however they please and do not necessarily ever have to meddle with Necromancy, across all threeActs ofBaldur’s Gate 3– but it could be fun.
