Despite its price, the Return Scepter is incredibly useful in the long run, and as such, it is undoubtedly worth purchasing once one has built up the funds to do so. This is becausethe Return Scepter’s warp function is an unparalleled time-saving feature inStardew Valley, which allows the Farmer to make the absolute most of their day. The Scepter returns the Farmer to the door of the Farmhouse, effectively allowing them to enter near-instantly from anywhere in the game. By extension, this means that the travel time back to the farm every night is eliminated as a concern.
Buying the Return Scepter means that the Farmer can travel around the valley all day long, pushing themselves to the very limits of what the game will allow.It becomes very easy to avoid ever passing out, even as the in-game clock approaches 2 AM, for example, preventing the loss of any money as a penalty. The Return Scepter Is Better Than The Warp Totem Alternative
Of course, it is worth noting thatthe Return Scepter is very similar in function to Warp Totem: Farms, which can be obtained in a variety of ways. However,Warp Totems are single-use, and they bring the farmer to a Warp Statue slightly away from the farmhouse. On the whole, between being consumables and the extra distance to the farmhouse, Warp Totems are arguably less useful overall than the Return Scepter despite being easier to obtain.
