After slicing up the Halloween season for the first two movies, theTerrifier 3trailer finds Art the Clown embarking on a new murderous rampage in the Christmas season. The horror threequel comes a few years after the blockbuster success ofTerrifier 2, which not only garnered large acclaim from critics, but was a surprise box office hit, grossing just shy of $16 million against its $250,000 production budget. The video, as seen above, reveals the proper first look at Art the Clown’s return to terrify the town of Miles County on Christmas Eve, including Santa Claus himself, played by genre legend Daniel Roebuck. The trailer also offers a look at LaVera’s Sienna as she gears up to try and take down the brutal killer once and for all.
Terrifier 3 Looks To Be Delivering On Its Holiday Promise

While theTerrifier 3teaser trailer may not fully reveal the plot for the next installment in the horror franchise, it does go a long way to teasing what’s to come from the next installment’s story. The most prominent reveal is how Sienna is managing life after her encounter withArt in the second movie, clearly still rattled by the experience and having issues at home, likely with her foster parents, after the villainous clown killed her mother. The footage also teases Vicky’s murderous turn, possessed by an unknown spirit tied to Art and breaking out from the psychiatric hospital in bloody fashion.
Though previously released images for the movie have certainly laid some groundwork for audience anticipation,Terrifier 3’s teaser trailer is a great indication that Leone is fully delivering on the promise of its Christmas setting. While there have been plenty of Christmas-set horror movies over the years, few beyondthe variousBlack ChristmasincarnationsandKrampushave found any major success in utilizing the holiday for gleefully vicious kills. Given how infamousTerrifier 2was for its brutality, it seems likely Leone will take the same approach for the third movie, particularly with a budget that’s eight times bigger.

Its predecessor proved to be a surprise viral hit upon its Fall 2022 release, ultimately grossing just shy of $16 million against its $250,000 production budget, thanks in part to word of mouth aboutTerrifier 2’s shocking kills. Should Leone having a bigger budget result in even grislier and more outlandish scares than its predecessor, the threequel could very well keep the franchise’s success streak alive and well.
