It’s a little disappointing that the action fiigure doesn’t come with Vernestra Rwoh’slightsaber whip, although presumably that was difficult to realize from a single shot in live-action. ShouldThe Acolytebe renewed, hopefully future action figures will come with a different accessory.

Vernestra Rwoh Is The High Republic’s Greatest Jedi

Introduced in Justina Ireland’sA Test of Courage, there is a sense in which Vernestra Rwoh (sometimes nicknamed “Vern”) is the greatest Jedi of the High Republic Era. She is unusually sensitive to the Force, and her supposed dislike of hyperspace travel - teased inThe Acolyte- is actually because of a rareForce powerthat grants her strange visions and mystical experiences while traveling through that realm. Vernestra apparently became a Wayseeker for a time, a Jedi operating entirely independently from the Council.

By the time ofThe Acolyte, Vernestra appears to be operating as the Master of the Order - the role held by Mace Windu in the prequels. This gives her responsibility for overseeing the entire Order, and a degree of independence from the Jedi Council itself. Unfortunately, it also appears to have drawn her into politics, as she attempts to concealwhat happened on Brendokfrom both the Council and the Senate. She fails, and this looks likely to lead to increase political oversight for the Jedi - setting up the prequels.

All this means Vernestra Rwoh is undeniably one of the most important Jedi in history, even if she’s unlikely to have a pleasant legacy. Collectors will be delighte at the chance to add Vernestra to the already-large number of action figures inspired byThe Acolyte. Only one character is currently missing: The Stranger himself. Hopefully, it won’t be long before that too is announced.
