Summary
Deadpool & Wolverinecleared up several questions about the Fox Marvel movies that have been speculated about for ages, including the official canon name of theX-Menmovie universe. The film is the first project in theMCUto truly explore the Fox Marvel properties. There were plenty of points to address that fans have wondered about since Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox, including the exact universe that the Fox Marvel films will be considered a part of. Luckily for them,Deadpool & Wolverinegave theX-Menmovie universeits official name.
The Fox acquisition came at the perfect time forthe MCU timeline, as development and production of the Multiverse Saga was well underway. Instead of having to work the Fox movies into the main MCU Earth-616 timeline, they could simply be passed off as happening in an alternate reality.Deadpool & Wolverinesolidified that sentiment as the film explored timelines and variants, officiallyconfirming that theX-Menmovies happened in another universe under a canon name.

Deadpool & Wolverine Story Recap: 12 Things To Know From Previous Marvel Movies & Shows
Deadpool & Wolverine is in many ways a love-letter to Fox’s superhero movies, but it also draws notably from the MCU’s most recent developments.
The Fox X-Men Universe Is Set On Earth-10005
Earth-10005 Was Made For The X-Men Films
ThoughDeadpool & Wolverinefeatures the mainWade Wilson varianttraveling to Earth-616, the focus is very quickly shifted onto his home world, that of Earth-10005. He mentions that the Wolverine of his world died inLogan, meaning that Earth-10005’s Deadpool co-existed with the rest of the X-Men featured in the Fox films. This is Marvel’s first official confirmation thatthe Fox X-Men universe will be considered set on Earth-10005 in the MCU, just as they had been previously under 20th Century Fox.
Earth-10005 was the universe that Fox set all of theX-Menmovies in, and the studio seemingly came up with the name on their own. Earth-10005 looks to have no significance in the Marvel comics as it’s never mentioned in the context of the X-Men, so the universe was one created solely for the live-actionX-Menfilms and their spin-offs. As for the exact reason for choosing the specific name, 10005 is a zip code in New York City, which is where the first fewX-Menfilms took place.

Marvel Confirms All X-Men Movies Were Set In One Universe
Timeline Inconsistencies Made It Hard To Be Sure
Prime Deadpool existing in the timeline ofLoganand the otherX-Menfilms confirms thatthey were all set in one universe. Many theorized that Marvel would explain the Fox Marvel films by placing them in a separate universe from the canon MCU timeline, which ended up being true. However, it was unsure if everyX-Menmovie would even exist in the same timelines as each other. There are plenty of timeline inconsistencies spanning the variousX-Menfilms, so it made it particularly hard to verify whether the films were all considered the same timeline.
There are quite a few plot holes in the FoxX-Menfilms, including the inconsistent portrayal of Storm and the extended years that Charles and Erik seem to be in their mid-30s. The confusion about the exact Fox timeline is amplified with the alterations inX-Men: Days of Future Past, as time travel revised the original Earth-10005 timeline. However,Deadpool & Wolverinehas simplified it all by confirming thatevery FoxX-Menmovie exists in the same timeline. For the sake of the MCU, the Fox films will thus seemingly just be referred to as Earth-10005.

How Other Fox Marvel Heroes Fit Into The MCU Multiverse
There Are Still Worlds Outside Of Earth-10005
Outside of Earth-10005, there are still other Fox Marvel heroes that fit into the MCU multiverse.Deadpool & Wolverineshoweda handful of cameo characters in the Voidincluding Wesley Snipes’ Blade, Jennifer Garner’s Elektra, Channing Tatum’s Gambit, and Chris Evans’ Human Torch. Besides X-23 who is part of the main X-Men timeline, it’s unclear what universe the other characters in the Void come from. As they are each motivated to avenge their universes and be remembered by their people, they seemingly come from separate ones.
The existence of the characters in the Void confirms thatother Fox Marvel universes exist outside of Earth-10005. Deadpool has no recollection of the Void characters, nor do the Void characters seem to have a past with each other, so they have to have come from different universes that just weren’t named.

This bodes well for the Multiverse Saga as the Fox Marvel properties outside of the X-Men thus set up a handful of other universes to potentially feature later down the line. As such, it seems thatDeadpool & Wolverinecould well be just the start of the MCU’s exploration of the Fox Marvel universe.
