The Apple Watch’s “i” icon pops up in a few key places in watchOS. Learn where the “i” icon is on Apple Watch, what it’s for, and how to use it so that when you see it you’ll know exactly how it can help.
Where Is the “i” Icon on Apple Watch?
The first place you’ll encounter the “i” icon (an “i” with a circle around it) on your Apple Watch is the initial setup screen. When pairing an Apple Watch with an iPhone, you’ll complete most of the setup process using the Watch app on your iPhone.
However, you’ll see the “i” icon appear on your Apple Watch—it’s the only element on the screen that you can tap during the first steps of pairing. Tapping it allows you to set up your Apple Watch manually. We’ll discuss this in detail in the following section.

You’ll also find the “i” icon in a few other important places on your Apple Watch. For example, inSettings > Bluetooth, you’ll see a list of Bluetooth devices. Tapping the “i” icon next to a device’s name will show any relevant details about it. If you want to forget a Bluetooth device, tap the “i” icon, then tapForget Device.
Further, you’ll find the “i” icon in the Wallet app on your Apple Watch. There, tap on a card to view its balance. Below it, tap theCard Detailsbutton, which features the “i” icon next to it. Then, you can view the card’s information, including its account number, network, and PIN.
There’s yet another “i” icon hiding inthe Compass app on your Apple Watchtoo. Tapping this “i” icon will reveal more details about your current bearing, incline, and elevation.
Pairing an Apple Watch Manually With the “i” Icon
Typically, pairing should start automatically when you hold your iPhone near the Apple Watch. If it doesn’t, ensure you’ve turned on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on your iPhone. Then, turn your Apple Watch on, bring it near your iPhone, and follow these steps to pair it:

What Is the “i” Button in the Watch App on iPhone?
You’ll also find the “i” icon in the Watch app on your iPhone. you may tap the “i” icon to manually unpair orlocate and ping your Apple Watch using Find My.
In the Watch app on your iPhone, tapAll Watchesin the top-left corner. Then, tap the “i” icon next to the watch you want to remove and tapUnpair Apple Watch.
Tapping the “i” icon here also reveals details about your Apple Watch, like its name, watchOS version, model number, serial number, Wi-Fi address, Bluetooth, IMEI, and more.
