WhatsApp could soon let you create polls in group chats
Many social networks and chat services out there support polls these days — Twitter, Telegram, and Facebook come to mind. WhatsApp is a notable exception, and a weird one if you think about it. It’s the de facto standard messenger in many countries, so being able to conduct polls right there would be immensely helpful. It looks like WhatsApp is working on just that, though. Following early screenshots of the feature, we’ve now had the chance to take a closer look at how polls will look like on Android.
A recent WhatsApp beta for Android, version 2.22.10.11, has added the underlying code that will enable polls. As spotted byWABetaInfo, you will be able to create a question with up to 12 possible answers in an extra screen within the app. This latest screenshot is similar to what the publication previously showed off in the WhatsApp beta for iOS, pictured below. Back then, it was also reported that only group members would be able to see and interact with the poll, which makes sense.

With the company now having everything in place on Android, iOS, and the desktop version, it will likely not be too long until polls launch. We suspect that they could be released alongsideWhatsApp Communities, a new space within the messenger that allows you to find all related group chats in one place, much like Discord servers work.
