Agatha All Alongis the latest entry in theMCUtimeline, acting as a direct sequel toWandaVision. Marvel’s first Disney+ show was a hit with audiences, and one of the highlights was undoubtedly the debut ofKathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness. The character was initially introduced as Agnes, Wanda’s nosy neighbor in the sitcom world, who would always show up at just the right time for a comedic beat. However, it’s eventually revealed that Agnes is the powerful witch, Agatha Harkness, who came to Westview to harness Wanda’s magic.
At the end ofWandaVision, Wanda condemns Agatha to a life trapped in her Westview persona.Agatha All Alongpicks up after the events of the series andfollows Agatha’s journey to free herself and regain her magicfollowingWanda’s death inDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. With so many entries in the MCU, it can be hard to keep track of when each project takes place. However,Agatha All Along’s place in the timeline can be pinpointed thanks to some pretty big clues dropped throughout episode 1.

Agatha All Along Is Set Three Years After WandaVision
The Series Is A Direct Follow-Up
Episode 1 ofAgatha All Alongconfirms thatit takes place three years afterWandaVision. It is initially hinted at when Agnes investigates the library card that was found on Wanda’s body. The librarian, Dottie, tells her that the book on record was stolen three years ago. Agnes works out that the book titledDialogue and Rhetoric: Known History of Learning & Debateis an acronym for the Darkhold. Wanda took possession of the Darkhold at the same time that Agatha was imprisoned in her Agnes persona, so the three years that Dottie mentions line up.
Agatha All Along Episode 1 & 2 Easter Eggs And Marvel References
Agatha All Along has premiered its first two episodes on Disney+, and both are full of exciting Easter eggs, Marvel references, and WandaVision ties.
The timeline is later outright confirmed by Agatha’s neighbor Herb. After finally breaking free from Wanda’s spell,Herb tells Agatha that it’s been three years since Wanda arrived in town and created the Westview Anomaly. WhenAgatha All Alongwas first announced as a continuation of the events ofWandaVision, many fans might’ve expected the series to take place promptly after. However, a three-year gap betweenWandaVisionandAgatha All Alongmakes sense with everything that happened in the meantime, namely the events ofDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

How Long After Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness Is It?
Wanda’s Death Plays A Key Role In The Show
The library card eventually confirms to Agatha that she had possession of the Darkhold previously, and Wanda took it in October.WandaVisiontook place three weeks afterAvengers: Endgameaccording to Marvel’s official MCU timeline, soWanda taking the Darkholdin October 2023 makes sense. That would line up with howDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnessand Wanda’s subsequent death takes place in late 2024. WithAgatha All Alongthree years afterWandaVision, that would meanthe series takes place around late 2026 or early 2027, around two years afterMultiverse of Madness.
WandaVision,Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnessand the first two episodes ofAgatha All Alongare currently streaming on Disney+.

However, since the library card appeared as the body tag on Wanda’s corpse, it could hold a different meaning. Wanda’s name next to October 13 could mean that was her death date. Agatha’s name is next to January 21, perhaps symbolizing her death in relation to her imprisonment. This scenario would put bothWandaVisionandMultiverse of Madnessthree years beforeAgatha All Along. Although that would mean that the dates ofMultiverse of Madnessare retconned, it would only be pushed up by a year, which still works out in the greater timeline.
How Agatha All Along Fits Into The Larger MCU Timeline
The Endgame Time Skip Made The MCU Timeline Tricky
The MCU timeline has gotten extremely messy after the time skip inAvengers: Endgame. Projects used to line up with real-time dates before the Snap and the five-year jump, which has made it harder to pinpoint exactly when things take place.Agatha All Alongwas always going to take place afterWandaVision, but having the confirmed three-year gap helps a lot when fitting the series into the larger MCU timeline. It’s entirely possible that the showrunners disregarded theEndgametime skipand just placedAgatha All Alongin relation toWandaVision.
Will Agatha All Along Season 2 Happen? Everything We Know
Questions surrounding whether Agatha All Along will get a season 2 have emerged since well before the Marvel Cinematic Universe show’s release.
Disregarding the MCU time skip,WandaVisionwas released in 2021, which would still putAgatha All Alongthree years after it with its 2024 release. No matter what the showrunners mean by this timeline, every project that has been released afterWandaVisionstill comes beforeAgatha All Along, whether based on the in-universe timeline or real-time. Both scenarios putAgatha All Alongas the most recent event in the MCU, meaning that this will be the jumping-off point for the rest of the Multiverse Saga.
