Zenless Zone Zerohas introduced a new Lost Void boss to beat in Geppetto. Lost Void has been one of the more fun additions, providing an experience much like the Simulated Universe fromHSR. It also has the bonus of specific runs geared toward specific characters, providing an opportunity to try out or expand those agents.

The rest of 1.6 has proven to be an exciting update to the game. Outside new events, it features three new characters in Silver Soldier Anby, Pulchra, and Trigger, which bring along a new damage mechanic in Aftershock. Aftershock attacks are similar to follow-up attacks fromHSR, and provide a fun new fast-paced force. However, it’s limited toSilver Solider Anby for DPS options.

How To Unlock The Geppetto Boss

Journey Through The Lost Void Story Mission

Geppetto can be unlocked by doing the new Dancing On Strings given by the NPC Ray at The Outpost. This will send players on a story mission through the Lost Void, which has plenty of story beats to enjoy along the way. Those who don’t have access to the Lost Void yet will have to complete Soldier 11’s Mole In The Hole quests to gain access.

The Lost Void will offer bonus buffs that are specific to the characters on a player’s team.

TheGeppetto fight in this story commission is toned down compared to the regular variantplayers will face in other Lost Void runs. You will get a trial team of Evelyn, Lighter, and Lucy for this story commission, and they provide plenty of damage as long as you can cycle through Lucy’s buffs and stun Geppetto with Lighter. Those who don’t haveEvelyn and her best buildsyet might have some trouble figuring out her kit, but a quick read-through should provide the basics of her enhanced attacks to make it through.

Best Teams For Beating Geppetto

Burst Damage Is King Against Him

Luckily, Geppetto doesn’t have any hard requirements for teams to use.He has no resistance or weaknesses to any specific element, so the best option is your best burst damage team. The best teams in the game in terms of damage would be Miyabi/Yanagi/Astra or Evelyn/Lighter/Astra. Both have different options that can fill in, but the main damage dealer has to stay the same.Astra Yao and her best buildsare also a strong choice given how universally powerful she is.

Zenless Zone Zero: Best Miyabi Build (W-Engine, Teams & Drive Discs)

Hoshimi Miyabi has entered Zenless Zone Zero, and properly building her gives players what may be the most powerful character for quite a while.

Other strong options to use for limited character teams include SS Anby/Pulchra/Any Support, Zhu Yuan/Qingyi/Nicole, Jane/Burnice/Caeser, and Ellen Joe/Lycaon/Soukaku.Some of these teams are a little older and may not rival the top tier, but can still suffice. Those who have limited options among their roster can still beat Geppetto, but this will be a much longer battle, and comes with the assumption these characters are properly built.

How To Defeat Geppetto (Best Strategy)

Wait For The Right Opportunity

Geppetto has a basic set of melee and ranged beam attacks to avoid. These use common indicators, so players can successfully dodge and counter them for damage and Daze buildup. The big attack to avoid is when Geppetto moves out of range and uses the Curtain of Phantoms. This attack will summon large purple “curtains” around the arena that deal heavy damage and inflict the Suspend State. In the Suspend State, characters will have their abilities suppressed and lose movement speed, so other curtains can hit them.

The two best ways to open Geppetto up for attacks are the usual stun mechanic and his Impaired state. The latter involvesa brief window where he will not move or attack after enough damage is done to his hands or tail, which are the ideal spots to attack.

Thesecond ability to look out for is when Geppetto leaves range again but then summons Ethereal enemiescontrolled by the strings on his hand. These enemies will disappear after a period, but that would mean avoiding them the whole time and potentially soaking up unneeded damage. By defeating these enemies before they disappear, Geppetto will be knocked to the ground and cause a long period of damage.

Besides this period, the two best ways to open Geppetto up for attacks are the usual stun mechanic and his Impaired state. The latter involvesa brief window where he will not move or attack after enough damage is done to his hands or tail, which are the ideal spots to attack. This method is recommended over stunning him, as his daze bar is long and hard to fill. You will likely stun him once during the fight, but that will be toward the back end to finish him off.

Zenless Zone Zero Weekly Boss Timers, Reset, Rewards, Stamina Use, & More

Zenless Zone Zero’s weekly bosses work differently from other gacha games, making it important to understand how to tackle this new challenge.

Overall, Geppetto is a creative but not overly difficult new boss inZenless Zone Zero’sLost Void mode. The hardest part of his battle will be dodging, and then having the damage to whittle down its health when the opportunity arises. Anyone who has been playing for a few updates and has at least one good team should have little problem clearing the Lost Void or this new puppeteer.
